Who Are We
Soca Yacht Club, LLC d/b/a Soca Caribbean Yacht Charters is a yacht vacation travel agency that coordinates personalized, stress-free, all-inclusive yacht vacations to a Caribbean oasis. We are located near the nation’s capital of the United States and accredited by the International Airlines Travel Agent Network.

The Boss
Sheila Ruffin
Sheila Ruffin is a Hampton University and Howard University School of Law graduate, and earned her travel agent certification from the Travel Institute. She is an energy and environmental law attorney, and combined her legal background with her travel expertise to create Soca Caribbean Yacht Charters.
Born on Virginia’s Eastern Shore, she was exposed early to the boating life. Her grandfather, “Big Rich,” was an avid boater on the Chesapeake Bay, and at age 6, she learned about the travel industry by planning vacations with her mother.
In 2012, Sheila moved to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands and handled yacht marina construction, boating pollution, public beach access, and cruise port congestion. In 2017, Sheila made history by coordinating the travels of the first U.S. group to dance in one of Cuba’s biggest carnivals. As an attorney, Sheila examines hydropower dams, commercial marinas, boat storage facilities, and impacts to recreational water activities. Sheila is a former board member of the U.S. Olympic Sailing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. In 2021, she was selected for Boating Industry Magazine’s 40 Under 40 award and was chosen to grace the cover of Destination Magazine – Virgin islands 2022.
